Ohio Transitional Machine & Tool Inc.
Ohio Transitional Machine & Tool Inc. was started in 1984. The business began in a one and a half car garage behind the owners house. At that time there were just two employees, Marten Whalen and his partner John Huth.
In the summer of 1985 the business moved into a 1500 sq. ft. rental unit. Hiring an apprentice to help out with the growing work load.
By 1987 we had hired more employees and outgrown the rental unit. Thus we began the search for a larger building.
In 1988 we moved to our present location. Adding our first CNC machine. Business ran hot and cold for the next few years. New machinery was added in the way of, Bridgeport mills, a Boring mill, a Blanchard grinder, and miscellaneous machining equipment.
John Huth left the company in 1995.
In 1996 our first true CNC machining center was purchased.
One more CNC machining center, a CNC turning center and a wire EDM were acquired in 1997.
Since then another CNC machining center, misc. mills and lathes have been added to our business.
We are currently doing work for the packaging, glass, heat treating, automotive, food, pattern making, golf, elevator, and many other miscellaneous industries.
